The Hopping Family | Lifestyle Portraits | New England Area Photographer

Meet Wags!  Wags, is wiry, energetic pooch that belongs to some of my best friends. I have photos of Wags since she was a small puppy, when none of us knew what she was going to grow up looking like... and none of us would have guessed her looks... I mean, look at this puppy... Yah!  That IS baby Wags! Ha! (Don't judge this photo too much, it was taken in 2008, I'd like to think I've improved)

Now why don't you meet the rest of the family...well, okay not everyone, they also have two cats and some chickens... and a giant fish tank, but you get the point.

The Hopping's backyard was a great backdrop.

My history with the family starts years ago when I worked with Russ at The Trustees of Reservations, where he is still an Ecologist. After working together we also learned how to snowboard together.  We have plenty of funny stories from that time, starting with being the oldest ones in the beginner class with our 16 year old instructor, too ending up tangled in that orange barrier mesh... OUCH.  Although my snowboarding days seem far behind me... they are fond memories!

Now Lynne, she's a volunteer firefighter and works full time helping others find work... well, that's what I understand about her job anyway... mostly we don't talk about work... ha ha ha...

And well the kids are kids...not little kids, but young adults... humorous people, figuring things out as they go...

Does anyone else remember shaking your root beer so you could "eat" the suds... I do, but didn't really until I was reminded... ha ha ha...

And this is the only friend's house where I can walk into the yard and be encouraged to shoot a bow and arrow... successfully loosing that arrow in the woods! Yep, I'm that good!

I love how Wags is down in the corner... I didn't see her there at first... ha!

I love the personality... but I did start to loose them after a minute...

Let's try a different spot... ha!

I think this is my favorite from the day... I really like it in black and white too...

And right at the end of the shoot, we attempted to get a photo of the kids together...

And well, as someone who has an older brother, this series of photos bring me WAY back...

"The quicker you get serious about this the faster we'll be done..."

"Stop touching ME..."

"I will put you in submission...Attack!"

Who Wins?  I, the photographer, WIN!!!!!! But really, this family contains some of my favorite people in the world. I think I'll make sure to photograph them again...
