Katie & Justin | The Myriad Ballroom | New England Wedding Photography

There are fewer things that cause people to panic on a wedding day than the threat of rain and thunder storms. And, well, it should not be feared, but it should be considered a possibility unless you live somewhere that never receives rain.

Here's what I think, rain can be your friend. Rain can bring unexpected surprises... and today's featured wedding is one of those moments.

This was the second wedding this season that I had the pleasure to second shoot for Jamie R. Doyle Photography.  When Jamie and I discussed the details of the day she told me that I was to meet the groom and his gents at a home on No Way. And I laughed... "No Way"... Yep. So, I couldn't resist a photo of the sign as I pulled up.

Justin and his groomsmen were in very good spirits when I arrived and mostly they were trying to stay cool.

It was clear that these guys were going to provide some great laughs as the day went on. And they took direction well, which is such a treat!

As final touches were being made at The Myriad Ballroom, in Mendon, the chatter started about the possibility of rain.....

And sure enough, just when Katie pulled up in her limo, the rain began...

The quick acting staff moved everything to the covered location and everyone else adjusted as needed. Whew.

Katie was all smiles...

...and nothing was going to stop this special moment.

With Katie's mom officiating, the ceremony was personal and touching.

Happy Happy!

And just as the formal photos were to start, this happened! A Double Rainbow! I don't know if you can tell, but one of them was actually falling right on the pond.

It's not everyday that you get an opportunity like that, so we did our best to take advantage of nature's colors!

Katie and Justin were greeted inside by their family and friends with an amazing round of applause!

And headed straight into their first dance.

Who remembers these? They were on every table and had some great little fun facts.

Ha. Great way to keep your guests involved!

Jamie convinced the couple to head back outside to get a few more portraits.

You can never have enough wedding day photos of the bride and groom!

Sunglasses never hurt a Bridal Party!

And they can also help get the dancing started! Who knew?

Don't leave a groom hangin'!

Then things got serious... I think this was called The Lumber Jack! ha.

These two definitely have a special relationship.

As do these two!

Congratulations Katie and Justin!

And thanks again Jamie R. Doyle Photography!
